There are many songs written about why we serve the Lord, so I saw the need for one about why He serves us. I should point out that while we are totally unworthy in our own strength we are totally worthy in Christ’s power; what He does in us makes us worthy. In other words, He doesn’t love us because we are worthy; we are worthy because He loves us.
I had the signature guitar strum in the late 1970’s; it was part of my dream of becoming a folk-rock star. I actually finished the song about twenty years later and then forgot about it until I looked for songs for the second CD. This goes to show that for songwriters it’s important to record everything you do in some way.
