Victor Barden: Music

God's Gift to Man

(Victor Barden)
LYRICS:
I know a man who thinks he is so good,
But everyone else says he is no good,
Sings his own praises all the day long,
And everyone’s getting tired of that song.
He thinks he must go through life undefeated,
And if you beat him, well, you must have cheated.
He’s such a big male chauvinist pig;
Oh, he’s got nothing against women; he just thinks that he’s

God’s gift to man,
And he is his own number one fan,
And if you don’t agree, you just don’t understand
He’s God’s gift to man.

There was a Man Who said He was not good.
He came from God, but He was misunderstood.
He came down as a carpenter’s son
So that as a Man our race He could run.
He lived a life humble and lowly;
For thirty-three years, He was righteous and holy.
He had no sin, but He took our blame,
And now He has a name above all names.
He’s really

God’s Gift to Man.
He came down to earth, and our race He ran,
And He laid down His life as His Father had planned;
He’s really God’s Gift to man.

Blessed and holy and righteous is He
Who laid down His life on Calvary’s tree,
And now He sits at the right hand of God,
Pleading with Him for you and for me.

Back to our friend who thought he was a winner:
He finally learned that he was a sinner.
He was no better than the fellow next door,
And as a matter of fact, he was morally poor,
So he went out and got himself a Bible.
When he started to read, there could be no more denial.
When he was ready he said a prayer,
And the Lord came and met him right then and there.
He came to

God’s Gift to Man,
And now he’s a part of the holy plan,
And now he is learning all that he can
About God’s Gift to Man.

(repeat this chorus)

TAG:
And may we all learn all that we can
About God’s Gift to Man.

STORY: This song was inspired through one of my co-workers, a man who shall remain unknown except to God and me. I saw him strutting around one day, and that's when I got the beat. The jazz-based chord progression also came from that attitude. The Lord pushed me to finish it during the CD recording process, so I could tell He wanted it on this CD. Actually, don't we all think we're God's gift until we see irrefutable evidence otherwise?
